November Newsletter

September and October proved to be incredibly busy months!  Three times each year I visit or touch base with all of the 17 communities in my area (spring, summer and fall).  During these visits I establish and build relationships with the community leadership so that they can be served in the most effective manner.  Additionally, in the spring I make arrangements for the summer ministry; in the summer I visit the teams as they conduct their various programs; and in the fall I check with the community to see how everything went during the summer and begin making arrangements for the following year.

It was unanimous!  As I was doing the autumn follow-up, it became very apparent that the leadership in each community were thrilled with their team's ministry and are looking forward to seeing them again next year.  All of the teams were fantastic!
Gift of Jackets for the North - Samsonite Canada graciously donated around 900 new jackets to be distributed among those who are of need. It was daunting to see three pallets of boxes full of jackets, and then having to come up with a plan to transport and redistribute these beautiful jackets.  So far I have been able to get them en route to: Garden Hill, Brochet, The Pas, Shamatawa, Thompson, Hall Lake, Lynn Lake, Leaf Rapids, South Indian Lake, Grand Rapids, York Landing.

  • Strength and wisdom so that I can best serve the Lord in these communities
  • Opportunities to build relationships with community leaders
  • Good health for the winter months

THANKSGIVING REFLECTION Throughout October, I was once again humbled as I reflected upon the many blessings that the Lord has afforded me.  The top of the list is the free gift of salvation offered through Christ’s redeeming work on the cross.  Throughout my life He has always been there and has lovingly drawn me into a deeper relationship with Himself.  Since 2003, I have been honoured to serve Him through Missionfest Manitoba (14 years) and LAMP (2.5 years thus far).  And when I think about LAMP, I thank the Lord for my many prayer partners and supporters. Christmas Newsletter 2018

HAVE A JOYOUS CHRISTMAS FROM GORD AND KIM AND EVERYONE AT LAMP Another Christmas is fast approaching!  My prayer is that we do not become so busy that we miss the true reason for our yearly celebration.  That God chose to demonstrate His love by entering into history in order to reconcile a fallen humanity to Himself.  This is the Good News of Christmas!  And this is the message that LAMP strives to share in the Canadian North. Christmas Cannot Be Stolen

  CHRISTMAS CANNOT BE STOLEN! I have heard politicians lament that they would be remembered as the ‘person who stole Christmas.’ Like in ‘The Grinch who Stole Christmas’ by Dr. Seuss, the perpetrator was able to steal some of the things that surround the day, but not effect the main celebration.
